₹2.6 lakh per month rent for Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai property

Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has leased out his premium residential property in Lower Parel, Mumbai, for a monthly rent of ₹2.6 lakh, as per property registration documents analyzed by Square Yards.

The apartment is part of Lodha Marquise – The Park, a luxurious residential project by Macrotech Developers Limited (Lodha Group), spanning across a sprawling 7-acre expanse in one of Mumbai’s most sought-after locations. This ready-to-move property is known for its high-end amenities and strategic positioning within the city.

According to property records reviewed by Square Yards, the apartment features a carpet area of 1,298 sq ft and comes with the added advantage of two dedicated car parking spaces. The lease agreement for the transaction attracted a stamp duty of ₹16,300 along with registration charges of ₹1,000.

A deeper analysis of IGR property documents reveals that Rohit Sharma, along with his father, Gurunath Sharma, had originally purchased this high-end apartment in March 2013 for ₹5.46 crore. The rental income generated from the property, amounting to ₹2.6 lakh per month, results in an estimated rental yield of around 6%.

Lower Parel, recognized as one of Mumbai’s premier residential and commercial districts, boasts a sophisticated urban lifestyle with excellent connectivity to key business zones, including the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Nariman Point. The locality is home to luxury skyscrapers, high-end retail outlets, and upscale dining options, making it an attractive choice for elite buyers and tenants.

Additionally, property records show that Rohit Sharma and his father own another high-value apartment within Lodha Marquise – The Park, which they had acquired in 2013 for ₹5.70 crore. This second property was leased out in October 2024 for ₹2.65 lakh per month, highlighting the strong rental demand in the area.

Beyond his real estate investments, Rohit Sharma has carved a remarkable legacy in cricket, having led the Mumbai Indians to multiple IPL titles. He was instrumental in India’s triumphs in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2018 Asia Cup. Recognized for his outstanding contributions to the sport, he was honored with the Arjuna Award in 2015 and the Khel Ratna in 2020. As India’s captain, he continues to be a key figure in international cricket, blending his masterful batting with sharp leadership skills.
