Pankaj Tripathi, an actor, is known for his simplicity. He has frequently talked about how much he loves cooking at home, and khichdi is his absolute favorite dish. The actor recently revealed that in order to accurately capture the emotions of his character, he only consumed khichdi during the filming of Main Atal Hoon, which is directed by Ravi Jadhav and in which he plays the late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Tripathi revealed, “In Atal, I shot for about 60 days and for those 60 days, I only ate khichdi, that too the one cooked by me,” in a recent interview with Film Companion. The actor gave an explanation for his actions, including not ordering takeout or having anyone else prepare for him. You never know what other people are capable of. I didn’t add any oil or masalas. I only use readily accessible local veggies, chawal, and basic dal,” he added.
Tripathi revealed that in his early years, he didn’t have to consider his food choices and could act even after consuming a samosa. “When I was younger, I could act even after consuming a samosa,” he remarked. However, I can’t even recall the last time I had a samosa. To keep my system in working order, I now require “Saatvik.”
Additionally, he discussed the importance of a good diet for actors in terms of both maintaining their health and effectively conveying the emotions of their roles. As an actor, you are misguided if you think you can emote by eating unhealthy food and having a stomachache. Tripathi stated as much. This is the reason I only eat khichdi on the day of the shoot.
“You need to have a sync between the brain and the body to get that emotion right,” he said. An actor has to eat light food for that.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the late politician and former prime minister of India, is the subject of the biographical film Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon Yeh Desh Rehna Chahiye – Atal. In December, it will be released in theaters. Salim-Sulaiman wrote the lyrics and music for the movie, while Sonu Nigam sang the vocals for the motion video announcement.
