Brettsey’s other half is on her way out of the Windy City.
Kara Killmer, who plays Sylvie Brett on “Chicago Fire,” will be saying goodbye to the show after its upcoming 12th season. The number of episodes in which Killmer will appear is yet unknown, despite the fact that she will appear in the first half of the season.
Since returning for Season 3 of the NBC procedural in 2014, Killmer has made 193 appearances. Additionally, she played recurrent roles in the spinoffs Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med. Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a branch of Universal Studio Group, are the producers of all three shows.
The drama’s Matt Casey, played by Jesse Spencer, departed the show during Season 10. Spencer made multiple appearances in Season 11 while Taylor Kinney took a leave of absence due to a personal issue. Casey, an Oregonian, proposed to Brett in the closing minutes of the season finale.
It goes without saying that Season 12 has been postponed amid the two Hollywood strikes. On October 4, the writers’ room reopened, and the week following Thanksgiving is when “Chicago Fire” production is anticipated to start.
Kinney will make a comeback in Season 12 after being absent from the final eight episodes of Season 11, as Variety has reported. Behind the scenes, showrunner Andrea Newman will be working alone. She formerly oversaw the writers’ room with series co-creator Derek Haas.
In other One Chicago news, Tracy Spiridakos, who plays Hailey Upton, will be leaving the show after its upcoming eleventh season, emulating her on-screen spouse. In Season 10, Jesse Lee Soffer—who portrayed Upton’s spouse, Jay Halstead—left the show. The number of episodes in which she will appear is still unknown.
