During her talk in the Dune: Part Two panel at CCXP 2023 in Brazil, Florence Pugh was hurled an object.
Together with her co-stars Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler, and Zendaya, Pugh attended the Comic-Con event in São Paulo, Brazil, to talk about the upcoming sequel movie. A flying object struck Pugh in the face during the group’s photo op, surprising both her and her co-star Butler, who flinched.
The scene, which shows Pugh getting hit by the flying object, has gone viral on social media, with the other members of the Dune: Part Two ensemble looking uncertain.
One recurring problem has been fans throwing things at performers while they are on stage. Harry Styles, Pugh’s co-star in the movie Don’t Worry Darling, was also struck by an object thrown by a fan at the singer while she was performing in Austria. The singer got hit when he was moving across the stage; at the moment, he winced in pain and covered his eyes with his hands.
Drake got hit by an object earlier this year while attending a concert in Chicago during the summer. Cardi B fired back against a fan who was throwing water at her when she was in Las Vegas by tossing her microphone back at her.
During her Las Vegas residency, Adele called out the tendency of fans hurling objects at performances.
“Have you noticed how people are like forgetting fing show etiquette in America, they’re just throwing s**t on stage Have you seen that?” she asked as she walked the stage with the t-shirt gun. “I fing dare you,” she added. “Dare you to throw something at me.”
