“The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy” is almost here, after weeks of ominous teasers and a stunning full trailer unveiled last month.
The legendary cast members of the first season of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” including Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, and Kristen Taekman, will rejoin for Bravo’s limited anthology series, which will debut on Peacock on December 14.
Reports revealed that “RHONY” would be changing its formula in two parts following a poorly received 13th season and an increase in conflict. First, Andy Cohen disclosed that the network was planning to premiere a spin-off series called “Legacy” featuring original and former New York Housewives, and that Bravo was concentrating on renewing the flagship programme with a fresh cast.
Nevertheless, the network was unable to reach a financial agreement with a number of the anticipated “Legacy” housewives, so it put the show on hold. This, it appears, prompted a change of direction, with the show being redesigned in the vein of “Ultimate Girl Trips” and streamed on Peacock rather than Bravo.
The original “RHONY” housewife Jill Zarin, who was anticipated to appear in the “Legacy” series, is noticeable absent from the “Girls Trip” group. Zarin disclosed that she was uncomfortable with the idea of the cast members receiving different salaries during agreements for the series with Bravo.
Meanwhile, Singer, who has a history of scandal in the Bravoverse, is one of the more noteworthy casting choices for “The Real Housewives of New York: Legacy.” Bravo launched an internal probe to look into official allegations made about Singer by another Season 13 Housewife, Eboni K. Williams, and a crew member during the 13th season of “RHONY.” Singer will still feature in “Legacy” despite her tumultuous history.
Peacock will begin streaming “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy” on December 14.
