Another Big Bang Theory spinoff is being developed by Lorre and Warner Bros. TV for Max, the streaming service for the original series. That project’s specifics are being kept under wraps.
The Young Sheldon spinoff is CBS’ third straight-to-series pickup for the 2024–2025 season, following the Sherlock Holmes–adjacent medical drama Watson, starring Morris Chestnut, and NCIS: Origins, a prequel that follows a younger version of Mark Harmon’s character. In addition, the network will host the multicamera comedy Poppa’s House, which received series orders in the spring of 2023 but was postponed due to labor strikes the previous year, and the Kathy Bates-led Matlock remake.
