Japan has officially launched an e-visa program for several countries including India. This first-entry visa is valid for up to 90 days and is specifically designed for travelers who plan to enter Japan by air and hold a regular passport.
For those wishing to visit Japan short-term, the process of obtaining a visa has been simplified with the introduction of electronic visas (electronic visas) through Japan’s e-visa system.
Who is eligible?
The following countries and territories are eligible: Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and United States.
Eligibility is also applicable to Indian citizens and foreign nationals residing in India.
Residents of these countries or regions can apply for an e-visa through the Japan e-visa website, except for those who are exempt from short-term visas.

- Check the required visas and documents
Select the appropriate visa for your trip and the documents to submit .
- Please enter your application information
Please enter the information required for your online visa application.
- Exam result notification
The results of your visa application will be sent to your registered email address.
- Payment of visa fee
Please pay the visa fee notified by email to the overseas Japan office where you applied.
- e-Visa issuance procedure
e-Visa will be issued after the payment.
