Travis Kelsey’s foray into Hollywood follows his first big acting job, a role in Ryan Murphy’s high-profile new FX horror series Grotesquely. Sources say the NFL star, who gained worldwide fame for his relationship with Taylor Swift, will star Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville in the upcoming series, which has just begun production. He plans to perform with them. Representatives for FX, Murphy and production studio 20th Television declined to comment.
As with all of Murphy’s projects, few details are known about “Grotesquerie,” as no cast members other than Nash-Betts, Vance, and Manville have been confirmed to appear in the drama, which is scheduled to premiere in the fall.
His series debut is expected to coincide with the next football season, when Kelce will return to the Kansas City Chiefs as a tight end and lead the team to its third Super Bowl victory in five years. “
Grotesquerie” is a sequel to Kelsey, who made her acting debut as the host of “Saturday Night Live” in March 2023. He also made a cameo appearance on NBC’s late-night sketch comedy series with Swift last fall.
