Samsung has been quietly working on One UI 7, the Android 15 update for Galaxy devices, behind the scenes, and it looks like they might get our first look at the update in the near future.
According to Ice Universe, a pretty reliable Samsung tipster, Samsung plans to launch its One UI 7 beta program as early as “the end of July” or early August.
This assumes there are no delays or “accidents,” as Ice puts it.
This is a lot sooner than Samsung planned. Last year, the first beta of Android 14 with One UI 6 was rolled out to Galaxy S23 series devices on August 11. If Ice is right and Samsung plans to release the update by the end of July, it could be up to two weeks earlier.
At the same time, this is not surprising at all. Google will be launching new Pixel devices in mid-August, so it’s very likely that the release of Android 15 as a whole will be significantly earlier than last year’s schedule.
It’s worth noting, however, that Ice said in June that One UI 7 would not come so early this year, due to the focus on One UI 6.1.1 and the Fold 6. But those plans could very well change.
It will probably be a while before Samsung rolls out the Android 15 update with One UI 7 to the public. Last year, Samsung launched Android 14 with One UI 6 on October 30.
