Once again, Andy Murray is the center of attention, but this time it’s in UK theaters.
In the two weeks before Wimbledon, the former world number one tennis player will tour the United Kingdom with his theatrical production, Andy Murray: Centre theatrical. Murray will reminisce on his tennis career and provide new anecdotes and insights of his life on tour during the interactive live performances, which will include him on stage with a screen behind him that displays video footage.
Starting on June 18 at SEC Armadillo in Glasgow, the city where Murray was born, the concert will take place four nights in June 2025 during the UK grass court season. The performance continues on June 19 at Edinburgh’s Playhouse before moving to London’s Eventim Hammersmith Apollo on June 2. The New Wimbledon Theatre will host the final stop on June 29, the evening before the Wimbledon Championships.
Andrew Cotter, a BBC sports broadcaster who has conducted multiple interviews with Murray, will host and produce Andy Murray: Centre Stage.
“After I retired this Summer, I wanted to try some different things. I don’t think a tennis player has done anything like this before so it felt like a great challenge for me. I haven’t stepped on a tennis court for a long time, so hopefully my fans will enjoy seeing me in this new setting,” Murray said in a statement.
It will be requested that attendees leave their phones at the door. There will be a maximum of 3,400 people allowed at each location.
WME and IMG Tennis, a branch of WME Sports, worked together to develop the tour.
