Donovan Mitchell has just won a Slam Dunk Contest and made two All-Star Games. Thus, normally, he’s attempting to add to his awards at the NBA’s midseason exhibit.
On Wednesday, the day after he was named to his second All-Star Game, Mitchell said he would be taking an interest in the 3-point challenge that will be held during the pregame portion of the All-Star Game on March 7.
“Yeah, I’ll be in it. I’m doing it. So I’m excited,” Mitchell said.
With the Jazz leading the league in 3-pointers made and attempted, it makes sense for Utah to be represented in the shooting presentation; and Mitchell attempted to bring along another colleague: Joe Ingles.
Ingles has broadly denied all endeavors to get him to take part altogether Star Weekend all through his career — and this year was the same.
“I’ve been begging Joe to get in it but he’s old so he’s going to sit in his rocking chair or something with the kids,” Mitchell said. “But I’m definitely doing it. I’m excited. I just found out today.”
Mitchell is shooting a career-high 39% from 3-point range and is fifth in the league in 3-point endeavors at 8.7.
