The best film of the year has been selected by the critics.
The 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards film nominees were released on Monday, with Focus Features’ “Belfast” and 20th Century Studios’ “West Side Story” leading the pack with 11 nominations each.
“Belfast,” which received seven Golden Globe nominations, is swiftly becoming this season’s award show heavyweight, thanks to the buzz from Monday’s Golden Globe nominations.
The Critics Choice Awards, which will be broadcast on CW and TBS and hosted by Taye Diggs and Nicole Byer, will take place on Jan. 9 — the same day as the Golden Globe Awards, which will not be broadcast this year. (Both TBS and CNN are owned by WarnerMedia.)
