Kenrich Williams, a forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, has reached an agreement on a four-year, $27.2 million contract deal, sources informed ESPN on Monday.
For an undrafted player who had received no Division I scholarship offers after graduating from high school, the deal, which was brokered by Pensack Sports, is a remarkable culmination.
Williams has frequently stated his desire to retire with the Thunder, and after four NBA seasons, he has proven to be a capable defender and floor general. Williams will have the chance to firmly establish himself among Oklahoma City’s developing young core of talent with the new contract, which will start in the 2023–24 season.
Williams, 27, played 22 minutes per game in 2021–22, averaging 7.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. Before joining the Thunder for the 2019–20 NBA season, he played his first two seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans.
In the off-season, the Thunder inked a five-year, $82.5 million agreement with guard Luguentz Dort, a young undrafted talent.
