Jennifer Garner is picking up Elektra’s sai once again.
According to multiple sources, the actress will reprise her role as Marvel Comics’ assassin antiheroine in Deadpool 3 after a nearly 20-year hiatus.
The Marvel Studios production is currently in production, and Ryan Reynolds is reprising his role as the fourth wall-breaking Merc with a Mouth, which made him a fan favorite. Yet again hugh Jackman has emerged from Wonder retirement to play Wolverine.
Shawn Duty is in the director’s chair with the undertaking to be the main film that will highlight a person, or for this situation, a few or more, from the steady that once had a place with twentieth Century Fox. Prior to Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, the movie rights to Marvel’s characters were returned to the company as a whole.
Garner first played the Marvel assassin in 20th Century Fox’s Daredevil, the 2003 feature that starred Ben Affleck as the Man Without Fear. Even though the movie didn’t do well, a spinoff came out with Garner fronting his own solo act Elektra two years later. Even though that was not a big hit at the box office, Garner was the first woman to direct a studio comic book movie at the time.
Her contribution in Deadpool 3 hints at some kind of multiverse point to the film that has for some time been reputed, and it is conceivable that different characters from Wonder films made by Fox could spring up. However, given that Deadpool is a meta character, self-awareness is not out of the question.
At the point when she previously played Elektra, Gather was in her featuring turn as spy Sydney Bristow in ABC’s spine chiller False name, which ran more than 105 episodes from 2001 to 2006. Her most recent films are Yes Day, which debuted on Netflix in 2021, and the sci-fi adventure The Adam Project, which she starred in alongside Reynolds and was directed by Levy.
She also starred in and executive produced Apple TV+’s limited series The Last Thing He Told Me, which premiered in April, and the most recent Party Down reboot. Jason Sloane and Harris Hartman of Sloane Offer, CAA, Linden Entertainment, and Garner are represented by them.
Levy, Reynolds, and Marvel’s Kevin Feige are producing Deadpool 3. The content is by Reynolds, Duty, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Zeb Wells.
