A Guide to Cancer Prevention with a Balanced Eating

The Spanish Association Against Cancer’s summer cancer prevention guide, developed in partnership with nutritionists Futurlife21, aims to promote healthy practices during this season. Its purpose is not simply to urge people to eat healthier, but also to avoid a variety of ailments, including cancer.

Futurlife21 is staffed by two biochemists with expertise in clinical nutrition and public health, both of which actively engaged and contributed to the guide. Several food companies also participate.

This project is part of the Everyone Against Cancer effort, which seeks to increase cancer survival rates beyond 70% by 2030. The association fosters the formation of a movement that brings together the entire people, organizations, businesses, the media, and public authorities in order to reverse the number of diseases.

Alarming Data

Obesity, according to the Spanish Association Against Cancer, is a risk factor for up to 12 different types of malignancies.

According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), one in every eight persons globally is obese. According to WHO, the main causes of this disease are inadequate nutrition and a lack of prevention.

CEEC also states that diet is closely related to the onset and progression of several types of cancers, such as colon and breast cancer.

Given these statistics, the Spanish Cancer Association strives to promote awareness of the significance of forming good habits to prevent the disease, with a focus on the summer months, when people become accustomed to overeating and excesses caused by holidays.

The group has issued a handbook outlining numerous practices you might adopt this summer to help prevent cancer.

It includes a variety of healthy and nutritious summer meal ideas, self-care tips, myth-busting, and four recipes complete with all the processes and ingredients.

According to the recommendations, here are some tips for self-care and cancer prevention during these months:

  • Have mouthwatering ideas for great, simple, and fresh meals.
  • Eat healthily most of the time since the better you eat, the less anxious you will be about consuming harmful foods.
  • Move. Movement is always beneficial and can help prevent many ailments.
  • Be forward-thinking. If you get hungry in between meals, bring some healthy snacks with you.
  • Drinking water. Drinking water will quench your thirst; avoid sweetened or sweetened soft drinks, as well as alcoholic beverages.

Myths About Summer Food

In addition to a number of keys, the guide includes a section that debunks culinary misconceptions that always reappear throughout the summer season:
