There are already over a billion Android phone users, making rich communication services (RCS) a huge deal. According to Google, Apple is expected to join the RCS party, so those figures could increase by fall.
Apple Releases the Apple Watch Series 9 and iPhone 15:
The advantages of RCS are listed on a Google Messages page, which also occurred to have a slide indicating the feature will be available on the iPhone. 9to5Google saw this slide first on Thursday.
The now-deleted presentation stated, “Apple has announced it will be adopting RCS in the fall of 2024.”
A query about this eliminated slide was sent to Google and Apple, but neither company responded right away.
Although Apple started working on adding RCS compatibility to its next iPhone last year, this is the first time that the significant event’s date has been stated. Given that Apple usually unveils its new iPhone in the fall, the timing does seem acceptable. This might be one of the many iOS 18 feature announcements that take place at Apple’s WWDC in June.
For those who use iPhones and Android devices, this may signal the end of the chaos surrounding the green and blue bubbles. This does not, however, imply that iMessage will now be available on Android phones or that the various colored bubbles will disappear. When texting someone with an iPhone, Android users will continue to see the green bubble. On the other hand, features like high-definition images and videos, message receipts, and emoji replies might be shared between the two devices.
When the Department of Justice decided to pursue Apple for controlling the iPhone market, one of its main grounds of disagreement was texts. CEO Tim Cook has been sued by someone who claimed that he had a difficult time sending her pictures because she was using an Android phone. After that, Cook recommended the man to “get your mom an iPhone.”
