Aaron Judge Breaks 15-Year Record with 57th Homer and 140+ RBI

Aaron Judge is having a long season and will continue to write many more records in the future.

The New York Yankees slugger hit his 57th home run of the season on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles, scoring three runs in a ninth inning comeback attempt. New York ultimately fell short, losing 9-7.

The home run not only brought Judge closer to the 60-home mark with four games remaining, but also gave him his 142nd RBI of the season, making him the first player to record 140 RBI in a single season since Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard in 2009. Judge had a 62-homer season with 131 RBI in 2022.

Both numbers should make a strong case for Judge to win his second MVP award this offseason. In addition to home runs and RBIs, Judge also recorded walks (130), on-base percentage (.459), slugging percentage (.699), OPS+ (222), total bases (383) and bWAR (10, 4) on Wednesday.

As for the Yankees, they are 92-66 and have a magic number of 1 to win the AL East. Their next chance to win is Thursday against the Orioles, where Gerrit Cole and Corbin Burnes will face off.
