Adele has announced that she is ill and is postponing all of her shows at her continuing Las Vegas residency for next month.
On social media, the British singer said that her doctors had advised her to rest, but they concealed the specifics of her illness.
Her four-night run of stadium concerts in Munich in August is just over five months away from this announcement.
Her statement read, “Sadly, I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency.”
She clarified that she had first became unwell in early November of last year, towards the conclusion of her run of performances, all of which were held in Caesars Palace’s Colosseum.
The residency was then scheduled to end during the holiday season.
Nonetheless, she clarified that on January 19, “the chance to get back to full health before the shows resumed” had been given to her. She has since done twelve concerts.
Her residency deal calls for her to perform every Friday and Saturday through the end of June.
Tickets holders will receive information “asap” regarding the 10 postponed shows, although new dates have not yet been announced.
The residency was originally scheduled to begin in January 2022, however it was postponed until the day before the first event was scheduled to start, which ended up taking place in March of that same year.
Adele noted that while she was “heartbroken” to have to postpone them, the concert “ain’t ready” in part because several of her crew members had contracted Covid.
The London-born artist, whose albums 19, 21, 25, and 30 have all been enormous global hits, revealed in January that four performances would be held in August in a newly built stadium in Munich.
The shows will mark her first time back on the European continent since 2016. She stated on social media when the tour dates were announced, “I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer.”
