Amazon has announced the launch of Like a Dragon: Yakuza, a six-part crime action series based on the Yakuza video game series.
The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video and will be available to stream in over 240 countries and territories from its launch on October 25th. It will be subtitled or dubbed in 30 languages.
The series follows the life of Kiryu Kazuma in two timelines, 1995 and 2005. Kazuma is the protagonist for the majority of the Yakuza video game series, a fearsome, justice-loving Yakuza warrior.

The lead role is played by Takeuchi Ryoma, who is known for his starring role in Kamen Rider Drive. In an Amazon press release, he said, “I am truly honored to be given the opportunity to play the role of Kazuma Kiryu, a beloved character and the game series. I strongly felt that I was willing to put my life on the line. The audience will enjoy the show’s human drama and conflict that unfolds around Kazuma Kiryu.
