Instagram has added new tagging options that might provide more information about a person, making it easier to credit collaborators. Enhanced tags will highlight the contributions of collaborators — such as photographers, artists, authors, and others — who contribute to material but aren't necessarily accessible unless a post's creator mentions them. The firm noted that many partners' work goes into developing the information that consumers see on the app when unveiling the expanded tagging options. "For many Black and underrepresented creators, crediting is an entryway to building a sustainable career as a creator, while combating cultural appropriation and ensuring the world knows who is driving culture," Instagram said in its release. Instagram says the feature would be used to recognise behind-the-scenes producers like makeup artists and composers who sometimes go undetected or unappreciated. The improved tags are a more official approach to show off what some creators have already done. Instagram users have devised a number of do-it-yourself solutions for acknowledging those who contributed to the development of material. Some users mention collaborators in the captions of their pictures, while others have labelled a slew of handles directly on the photo or video they've posted. When contributing content, users can tag contributors by tagging accounts and then pressing "show profile category" to reveal their involvement.
