Previous Texas Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong has formally been hired by Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is a get-together for both Strong and Jaguars lead trainer Urban Meyer, who coached together from 2005-09 at the University of Florida and won two National Championships together. There's various collegiate ties inside Meyer's staff, including previous Texas defensive coordinator Chris Ash who will serve as the Jaguars secondary coach. Solid's residency at Texas finished up with a 16-21 overall record in three seasons in the wake of taking over for incredible head coach Mack Brown. On Thursday, the Jaguars formally declared that Strong will serve as the assistant head coach and inside linebackers coach. Since his Texas residency, Strong burned through 2017-2019 as the head coach of the University of South Florida prior to being given up and accordingly hired as a defensive analyst by Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
