Apple to Roll Out iOS 18.1 Update on October 28 With Apple Intelligence Integration

Apple plans to release iOS 18.1 on October 28 along with the first batch of highly awaited Apple Intelligence improvements, as reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

Gurman reports that Apple is taking longer than anticipated to ensure a seamless rollout and ready its AI cloud servers for the increased traffic, which is why the release date is coming this month later than originally anticipated in an article in the most recent edition of his Power On newsletter.

Owners of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 will be able to access the initial set of Apple Intelligence features with the upgrade. Improved writing capabilities for editing, summarizing, and proofreading content are among the first enhancements, along with a revamped Siri user interface. Additionally, users may anticipate notification summaries for a number of apps, like as Mail and Messages, as well as a new “Clean Up” tool in the Photos app that uses generative AI to remove undesired aspects from images.

However, some of the more advanced Apple Intelligence features are coming in upcoming updates. iOS 18.2, due in December, will introduce ChatGPT support, Image Playground, and Genmoji for creating custom emoji. A complete overhaul of Siri, promising more precise app control and personalized responses, is expected in early 2025.
