After three months as a US exclusive, Apple Vision Pro was announced for eight more countries, including China.
After being announced at WWDC in June 2023, Apple Vision Pro finally launched on February 2, 2024, but only in the US. Since then, there have been signs such as job ads suggesting the headset is heading overseas, with Tim Cook specifically stating that China will get the headset in 2024.
“The enthusiasm for Apple Vision Pro has been extraordinary,” said Tim Cook, Apple`s CEO, “and we are thrilled to introduce the magic of spatial computing to more customers around the world.”
Announced by Apple during Apple’s iPad event. Apple Vision Pro launches in these countries, with preorders starting June 13, 2024:
- China
- Japan
- Singapore
Apple Vision Pro will be available in these countries on June 28.
Pre-orders for Apple Vision Pro will begin the same day in the following countries:
- Australia
- Canada
- France
- Germany
- UK
Apple Vision Pro will be available in these countries starting July 12.
At launch, Apple Vision Pro was priced at $3,499, but has since been discounted at times by up to $200. International prices seem to closely match U.S. prices, but there are currency fluctuations and some regions include taxes in the published price.
Apple Vision Pro starts with 256GB of storage, but can also be purchased with 512GB or 1TB. As in the U.S., the optic insert is sold separately.
One potential downside to releasing the Apple Vision Pro overseas three months after its U.S. launch is that it brings Apple a full quarter closer to launching its second headset. Recent rumors have suggested a successor to the Apple Vision Pro could be released in late 2025 or early 2026.
