The chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, Akash Ambani, announced on Wednesday that the largest telecom company in the nation is collaborating with Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay to introduce the ‘Bharat GPT’ program.
He added that the business, a division of Reliance Industries, has been working on an operating system for televisions for some time and is “comprehensively thinking” about launching one.
The 32-year-old Ambani family scion stated that creating a “ecosystem of development” is crucial for the business while also mentioning that work on the “Jio 2.0” goal is currently underway during the institute’s annual Techfest here.
“We have been collaborating with IIT Bombay to introduce a Bharat GPT program,” he stated, discussing Jio’s 2014 cooperation with the top tech institution.
Large language models and generative AI are simply the tip of the sea right now, and these applications will shape the next ten years, he claimed.
Ambani stated, “We are working very hard to launch AI not only as a vertical inside our organization, but also horizontally across all our sectors,” adding that artificial intelligence will revolutionize every aspect of goods and services.
According to him, the business would be introducing goods and services in the areas of media, commerce, communication, and electronics.
“We have been working on our own OS (operating system) for a while now for the TVs and we are comprehensively thinking about how to launch it,” Ambani stated.
Ambani stated that since his brother is getting married in 2024, it will be a unique year for the family.
Additionally, he expressed the company’s excitement about introducing 5G private networks, whereby it will provide any size business with a 5G stack.
Declaring that India will be the “biggest innovation centre” for the next ten years, Ambani expressed confidence that the nation’s economy will reach USD 6 trillion by the end of the decade.
The statement “consume everything” was made by Ambani, who was telling how his brother-in-law had just shown him how to use an AI program to regulate the temperature of his mattress. “To me, yes AI stands for artificial intelligence, but it also stands for all included,” he stated.
He stated that Jio sees money as a “byproduct” of the services it provides to India and that the firm operates with a belief that its goals are beneficial to the nation.
Ambani referred to Jio as the biggest startup globally and stated that young entrepreneurs should not be afraid of failing.
Ambani also urged business owners to work for the greater welfare of society, particularly if they are experimenting with consumer goods, and to have a strong sense of passion for what they do.
He claimed that technology is a “great equalizer” since it cuts beyond barriers such as caste and demographics and that Jio is always monitoring emerging technologies.
