Kia India is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated new Carnival Limousine on October 3, 2024, alongside its flagship electric SUV, the EV9. Kia has already announced that pre-bookings for the luxurious MPV will begin on September 16, 2024. Customers can secure their bookings with a minimum deposit of Rs. 2 lakh either through Kia’s authorized dealerships across India or online via the official Kia website starting from midnight on the same day.
This fourth-generation Kia Carnival marks a significant departure from its predecessor, offering an entirely new design and upgraded features. It is expected to enter the Indian market through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, with a price tag likely to exceed Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom). Recently, Kia teased the public with glimpses of the new Carnival’s striking features, including its dual sunroof, distinctive exterior design, and modern dashboard layout.
The brand has also unveiled several premium features that will be available in the new Carnival Limousine. These include second-row powered seats that offer both ventilation and leg support, enhancing comfort for passengers. Additionally, the MPV will come with a one-touch power sliding door for ease of access, twin sunroofs for an open and airy cabin experience, and a high-end 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system for a superior audio experience. The vehicle will also be equipped with a dual panoramic curved display, featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration for seamless connectivity. This curved display will also house a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, enhancing the driver’s interface.
In global markets, the new Kia Carnival is known for its wide range of seating configurations and engine options, including hybrid models. For the Indian market, Kia has confirmed the inclusion of a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with 23 autonomous features, aimed at providing enhanced safety and convenience on the road.
Since its initial introduction in India, the Kia Carnival Limousine has garnered widespread acclaim, with the previous model achieving over 14,500 unit sales. The new version is expected to build on that success by continuing to feature the familiar 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, which delivers an impressive 200 PS of power and 440 Nm of peak torque. This engine will likely be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, ensuring a smooth and powerful driving experience.
Alongside the Carnival, Kia will also introduce the EV9 electric SUV, which is set to be brought into India as a full import. The EV9 will likely be available only in the fully-loaded GT-Line variant, ensuring that buyers get the highest level of features and technology. With both the new Carnival Limousine and the EV9 poised to hit the market, Kia is set to make a bold statement in the premium and electric vehicle segments in India.
