Casetify is sending off another series of extras for Apple devices based on Neon Beginning Evangelion. The “Project-CSTF: Protection from Impact” collection lets you can wrap your iPhone, AirPods, or Apple Watch in cases that show off your love of the popular anime series from the mid-90s.
The logical feature of the series is the restricted release AirPods Expert case in view of Evangelion’s Unit-01, changing your Apple headphones case into a purple mecha head. In spite of the fact that it shows up too enormous and cumbersome to slip into a pocket, Casetify says the external case is “for ornamental purpose and not for harsh impact, scrapes or vigorous activities.” ( To put it another way, it is primarily intended for desktop display rather than everyday protection.) However, it also appears to include a standard on-the-go AirPods case that fits inside the Unit-01 head and features the “EVA-01” logo. The Test Type-01 case, which will be available for the AirPods Pro and AirPods 2, will cost $122, which is less than half the cost of the most recent true wireless earphones from Apple.
In addition, there are iPhone cases with the pilots’ likeness and MagSafe-compatible iPhone cases with Evangelion mechs and $52 MagSafe chargers designed to look like Umbilical Cables from the series. You can even order a $122 limited-edition wireless charging dock that looks like the ejection stands from the anime series and includes the MagSafe Umbilical Cable. Last but not least, Apple Watch bands featuring the series’ logo will be available.
On July 20 at midnight Pacific Time, the accessories will officially arrive. Meanwhile, you can join a shortlist to arrange the new items. In the mean time, those close to Tokyo can visit an open air display from July 20th to 25th (from 11:00-19:00 Japan Time) in Shinjuku Kabukicho Cine City Square.
