On Thursday, Deepika Padukone made the exciting announcement that she would be presenting at the 95th Academy Awards. The actress posted the names of all the presenters to her Instagram account. Riz Ahmed, Glenn Close, Emily Blunt, Troy Kotsur, Dwayne Johnson, Jennifer Connelly, Samuel L. Jackson, Melissa McCarthy, Zoe Saldana, Donnie Yen, Jonathan Majors, and Questlove round out the list. The actress simply wrote, “#oscars#oscars95” when she shared the post. The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles will host the 95th Academy Awards ceremony on March 12 (March 13 in India).
Neha Dhupia was one of the first to make a comment on the post shortly after she shared it: “an’t wait to watch you Deepu @deepikapadukone.”
The comment section was also overrun by admirers of Deepika Padukone. “Pathaan’s girl at the Oscar” and “This tym is ours Deepika mam” were two of the user comments.
Deepika Padukone unveiled a FIFA World Cup trophy in Qatar earlier this year. Additionally, she was a member of the Cannes jury last year.
In the meantime, India will have a special year at the Oscars because two documentaries and a song are up for awards in different categories. In addition, SS Rajamouli’s RRR song Naatu Naatu is up for a Best Original Song Oscar nomination this year. Chandrabose wrote the lyrics and MM Keeravaani composed the music for the song. The Elephant Whisperers is one of the nominees for Best Documentary Short Film, and All That Breathes will compete for Best Documentary Feature Film.
In addition, at the 95th Academy Awards, the RRR song Naatu Naatu will be performed live on stage. The Academy announced on Tuesday night that in their Oscar debuts, singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava will perform the song live.
When it comes back to Deepika Padukone, she is enjoying the success of her most recent film, Pathaan. She will then appear alongside Hrithik Roshan in Fighter.
