Elon Musk, the 52-year-old visionary behind Tesla and SpaceX, is a father again, now number of children to twelve.
Earlier this year, Musk and Shivon Zilishead of special projects at Neuralink, welcomed their third child together, adding a new member to their growing family.
The couple, who welcomed twins Strider and Azure in 2021, had kept details about their latest birth, including the baby’s name and gender, private.
Despite the delayed announcement, Musk clarified to Page Six that they didn’t hide the birth from those close to them.
“All our friends and family know,” he explained. “Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret’.”
Musk’s family tree is extensive and diverse.
Musk, who has three children shared with musician Grimes—Exa Dark Sideræl, Techno Mechanicus and X and five children, including twins Griffin and Vivian, and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian, from his previous marriage to writer Justin Musk, has a unique attitude towards parenting, as well as his professional endeavors.
A vocal critic of declining birth rates, Musk has expressed concern over the demographic trend, seeing it as a significant threat.
When asked in a 2022 interview about his ideal number of children, he candidly spoke about his outlook, saying, “As many as I can spend time with and be a good father to.”
On his social networking platform, X, Musk posted a lighthearted take on his parenting experiences in April. “Whoa,” he said, “I just realised that raising a kid is basically 18 years of prompt engineering.”
