Lego and The Pokémon Company have officially confirmed their partnership, bringing Pokémon-themed Lego sets to life. This long-anticipated collaboration marks a significant shift, as Pokémon has long been associated with MEGA Bloks. However, it seems that from 2026 onward, the iconic creatures will be getting a Lego makeover, if recent leaks prove to be accurate.
The buzz began when a post surfaced on the r/Legoleak Reddit forum, revealing that the LEGO Mexico Facebook page had briefly uploaded a teaser video hinting at the partnership. Though the original clip was swiftly removed, eager fans managed to capture and reupload it, showcasing a Pikachu tail built from Lego bricks. In the short teaser, the tail generates a jolt of electricity, illuminating both the Lego and Pokémon logos. The Reddit post further claimed that the video referenced a 2026 release window, though with the original source now erased, it’s uncertain whether additional details were included.
Despite the lack of an official press release from either company, the teaser appears authentic enough to suggest a legitimate collaboration. While Lego and The Pokémon Company have yet to make a more permanent announcement, the excitement is already building among fans eager to see their favorite pocket monsters in blocky form.
A partnership between Lego and Pokémon makes a lot of sense. Nintendo has steadily expanded its presence in the Lego universe, with popular Super Mario sets leading the charge. Bringing Pokémon into the mix would further strengthen this relationship and ensure brand continuity within the Lego ecosystem. While some long-time collectors may feel nostalgic about MEGA Bloks’ take on Pokémon, Lego’s widespread appeal and design expertise offer exciting possibilities for a fresh take on the beloved franchise.
That being said, there’s a mix of excitement and apprehension regarding how these sets will be priced. Given Lego’s history of premium pricing for larger, detailed builds, the thought of a high-end Pikachu set reaching £200 or more might be daunting. However, if the execution is done right, many fans and collectors will likely find it hard to resist adding these iconic creatures to their Lego collections. Whether it’s smaller, accessible builds or elaborate, large-scale models, the possibilities for Lego Pokémon sets are endless.
