Ford is increasing the cost of its electrified SUV by up to $8,000

Only a few weeks after announcing a price increase for the Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup, Ford declared it will also be hiking costs for the Mustang Mach-E, another well-liked electric vehicle.

Prices for the 2023 model year Mach-E will be around $3,000 higher for base models and as much as $8,000 higher for well-equipped higher-range variants of the SUV when Ford starts taking orders on Tuesday.

The base rear-wheel-drive vehicles will cost more, going from approximately $43,000 to nearly $46,000. The price of the larger battery-pack-equipped, all-wheel-drive Mustang Mach-E GT will rise from around $62,000 to roughly $69,900.

Ford stated that it is boosting prices as a result of “continued strain on key supply chains, and rapidly evolving market conditions.” The automaker declared that it will keep an eye on market circumstances and price trends for the upcoming model year. Ford says it will offer a 2023 model to customers who still have unfulfilled orders for 2022 model year vehicles that aren’t yet slated for production and delivery.

But there are some more features that are being introduced for the new Mach-E vehicles. For instance, all versions will come standard with Ford’s “Co-Pilot 360” sophisticated driving aid system as standard. It features blind spot monitoring, automatic high lights, and lane-keeping assistance. Additionally, all-wheel-drive versions with “extended range” battery packs will have a range of 290 miles, up 13 miles from 2022 models, according to the EPA.

Through the end of 2022, purchasers of the Ford Mustang Mach-E will also be qualified for a $7,500 tax credit. According to Ford spokesman Dan Barbossa, it is uncertain if the Mach-E will continue to be eligible for tax credits under new federal standards.
