It was a memorable Sunday for World Golf Hall of Fame member Ernie Els as he won the 2024 Kaulig Companies Championship by one stroke over Y.E. Young after the final round at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. For Els, it was his third win of the 2024 season in his 13th start and also secured him a spot in the PGA Tour’s 2025 Players Championship.
Els became the first three-time winner of the 2024 PGA Tour Champions season and moved into first place in the Charles Schwab Cup rankings.
He shot a 2-under 68 on Sunday to secure the win. He will take home $525,000. Yang, who shot a round of 66 on Sunday, won $308,000 for his performance.
Jerry Kelly took third place alone, with K.J. Choi and Steve Stricker in fourth place.
