Google will combine Brain and DeepMind into one team as part of its major AI drive.

Google DeepMind will result from the merger of Alphabet’s artificial intelligence company DeepMind and Google’s Brain team. In a post shared by Letters in order and Google Chief Sundar Pichai, he says the joined gatherings will “significantly accelerate our progress in AI.”

DeepMind President Demis Hassabis will act as the Chief of Google DeepMind, where Pichai says he will “lead the improvement of our most able and mindful general simulated intelligence frameworks.” In the interim, Jeff Dignitary, Google’s previous senior VP of Google Exploration and Wellbeing who helped to establish the Cerebrum group, will assume the job of Google Exploration and Google DeepMind’s central researcher.

In a memo to employees, Hassabis writes, “Together, in close collaboration with our fantastic colleagues across the Google Product Areas, we have a real opportunity to deliver AI research and products that dramatically improve the lives of billions of people, transform industries, advance science, and serve diverse communities.” “By creating Google DeepMind, I believe we can get to that future faster. Building ever more capable and general AI, safely and responsibly, demands that we solve some of the hardest scientific and engineering challenges of our time.”

DeepMind and Google have clashed before. As the tech giant began pushing DeepMind toward commercializing its work, it is said that DeepMind lost its years-long attempt to gain more independence from Google in 2021. However, Google probably wants to combine its research teams to boost its efforts as it expands into the AI industry.

In Spring, Google opened early admittance to its ChatGPT and Bing Visit rival, Troubadour. It’s weird and often didn’t do as well in tests we ran right after it came out as its rivals. Google employees reportedly criticized the product ahead of its launch and urged leadership not to release it, despite Pichai’s assurance that upgrades will be forthcoming.
