OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Pro, a premium subscription tier that brings exclusive access to advanced features and cutting-edge technology. This new service, which costs $200 a month (about £158), comes with the upgraded o1 Pro Mode, sophisticated speech mode, and unlimited use of GPT-4o. The existing ChatGPT Plus subscription, priced at $20 per month (around £16), will continue to be available, providing early access to new features and all models, though it will not include the additional capabilities of o1 Pro Mode.

In tandem with the introduction of ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI has released the stable version of its o1 model, replacing the earlier o1-preview version. Initially launched in September under the code name “Strawberry” as a limited preview, the refined o1 model is now available to ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers. Next week, access will be made available to Enterprise and Edu users.
