At Apple’s Let Loose event, the firm introduced the thinnest iPad Pro model to date. The Cupertino-based tech firm is reportedly developing comparable models for the iPhone 17, MacBook Pro, and Apple Watch, according to a recent rumor.
Apple is concentrating on creating a “skinnier” iPhone 17 model that will be released in 2025, according to a report by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in his Power On newsletter. The report mentioned that the Apple Watch and MacBook Pro are also undergoing a similar revamp, but it did not specify a launch date.
Notably, a prior report had stated that Apple was developing the Apple Watch X, the largest redesign of the wearable to date. The newest Apple Watch may have the smallest design to date with magnetic band connection and shifting mechanisms.
According to Gurman, Apple intends for the iPad Pro to be the beginning of a new line of products that will be the lightest and thinnest in their respective categories throughout the whole tech sector.
An iPhone 17 “Slim” model may be available:
Analysts Jeff Pu and Ross Young have already supported Gurman’s claim regarding a thinner iPhone 17 model. In fact, Pu stated earlier this year in an analyst note that Apple might decide to forgo the Plus model of the iPhone 17 in favor of a thin one the next year.
The iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, and iPhone 17 Pro models, on the other hand, are probably going to have “more complex” aluminum designs. On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Pro Max might still have a titanium body.
Pu claims that the A18 or A19 bionic chipset and 8GB of RAM will be used in the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Slim models. In the meantime, the A19 Pro processor and 12GB of RAM are probably what the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will have.
A significant improvement over the 12MP cameras on the iPhone 15 series, the 24MP front-facing cameras expected to be seen on the iPhone 17 series.
