According to report, the next major upgrade of Apple’s iOS operating system could have “significant enhancements.” According to Gurman’s newest Power On email, iOS 16 will include a notification update as well as a slew of new health-tracking capabilities.
Those looking for an iOS overhaul, on the other hand, appear to be out of luck. “even though it hasn’t changed much since iOS 7 nearly a decade ago,” Gurman added, “I’m not expecting an end-to-end redesign of iOS’s interface.” He speculates that the extent of Apple’s planned interface enhancements may be limited to a tweak to the iPad’s multitasking UI.
When it comes to Apple’s other operating systems, Gurman says watchOS 9 will likely bring improvements to the company’s activity and health tracking functions, but he doesn’t go into detail. What Apple has planned for the future edition of macOS is even less apparent. The business changed its desktop operating system to look more like iOS with Big Sur. Meanwhile, Apple added capabilities like Universal Control and SharePlay to the more current Monterey.
At WWDC 2022, Apple will show off the next macOS with iOS 16 and watchOS 9. This year’s annual developer conference for the company begins on June 6th. It’s possible that Apple will also unveil new hardware at the event, with Gurman confirming that new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models are in the works.
