Indonesia Makes Football History with First AFF Women’s Cup Win

Indonesia achieved a historic win by winning their first AFF Women’s Cup. The team achieved a major milestone for the national team by decisively defeating Cambodia 3-1 in the final, which was played at the New Laos National Stadium.

According to FIFA’s current rankings, the South East Asian country is ranked 104th. They will advance to the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Football Championship as a result of their Women’s Cup success. The competition is also open to Singapore and Cambodia, the runners-up.

Reva Octaviani was Indonesia’s star player throughout the 2024 AFF Women’s Cup, being named Man of the Match for her two goals in the final. Indonesia also performed solidly throughout the 11 matches, with young goalkeeper Laita Masykuroh conceding just one goal throughout the tournament.
