Jared Padalecki will star in season three of CBS’ “Fire Country,” Variety has confirmed.
Padalecki will have a recurring role in three episodes. He will play Camden, described as “a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode’s (Max Thieriot) raw talent.”
The role allows Padalecki to continue his deal with CBS Studios, which produces “Fire Country.” Padalecki most recently starred in the studio series “Walker,” which aired for four seasons on The CW, with Padalecki starring and executive producing. He also executive produced the prequel series “Walker: Independence Day,” which aired for one season.
Padalecki is, of course, best known for starring in the long-running CW/WB series Supernatural, which ran for 15 seasons and in which Padalecki co-starred alongside Jensen Ackles. There has been some discussion about Padalecki and Ackles reuniting with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke for the Amazon series The Boys, with Kripke serving as showrunner and Ackles starring as Soldier Boy.
He is repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment, and Fuller Law.
“Fire Country” premiered on CBS in 2022 and quickly became one of the network’s most-watched shows. A spinoff, Sheriff Country, starring Morena Baccarin, has already been ordered to series. Given Padalecki’s relationship with the studio, it’s possible that his storyline in season 3 could be used to launch his own spinoff, but no agreements have been reached at this time. CBS and CBS Studios declined to comment on any potential new spinoffs.
“Fire Country” returns for season 3 on October 18. Thieriot leads the cast of “Fire Country,” which also stars Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcilla, Jordan Callaway and Jules Latimer. Thieriot co-created the series with Tony Phelan and Joan Rater. All three serve as executive producers, along with showrunner Tia Napolitano and Jerry Bruckheimer and Kristie Ann Reid of Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
