From the Walk of Fame to “Home Alone”
A star was presented to Macaulay Culkin on Hollywood Boulevard on Friday.
Culkin, now 43, became well-known in popular culture when he played a young Kevin McCallister in the 1990 film “Home Alone” and its follow-up. In addition, he acted in films including “My Girl,” “Richie Rich,” and “Uncle Buck.” Over the years, he kept playing low-key parts, and in 2021, he starred in the tenth season of the TV series “American Horror Story”.
In addition, Culkin performed on stage and even formed a band!
Catherine O’Hara, who played his mother in the film “Home Alone,” honoured her big-screen son on Friday by joining the ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“Thank you for including me, your fake Mom, who left you ‘Home Alone’ not once, but twice,” joked O’Hara. “I am so proud.”
“Home Alone was, is and always will be a beloved, global sensation because of Macaulay Culkin,” she said. “Greetings. Your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is well deserved.”
Culkin expressed thanks to his longtime representatives and professionals who have supported him throughout his career since he was a young boy. In support of Culkin, actress Natasha Lyonne also spoke. Actress Brenda Song, Culkin’s partner, received a personal shout-out from him when he took the stage.
“You’re the best person I’ve ever known,” said Culkin. “You’ve given me purpose, family. After the birth of our two boys, you’ve become one of my three favorite people.”
In true ‘Home Alone’ style, the actor concluded his statement by delivering the famous phrase from the movie: ‘Merry Christmas, you filthy animals’.
On the well-known tourist attraction, Culkin’s star is ranked 2,765th.
