A recent rumor suggests that Samsung might limit the Android 15/One UI 7 beta program exclusively to the Galaxy S24 series, leaving other devices to receive only the stable version of the update. Reports indicate that the stable rollout for other eligible Galaxy devices could occur in the first half of February.
The information comes from X user @FamilyTaes, who previously shared insights into Samsung’s One UI 7.0 beta roadmap. According to the leak, Samsung does not plan to offer beta updates for models like the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, or any of the Galaxy A-series. However, on the brighter side, all eligible Galaxy S smartphones might receive the One UI 7 stable update before March 2025.
Samsung’s decision appears to stem from its focus on the upcoming Galaxy S25, as One UI 7 is expected to make its official debut on that flagship series. With the Galaxy S25 launch just weeks away, this strategic shift allows Samsung to expedite its development and rollout process. There’s no confirmation yet regarding whether foldable models like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Galaxy Z Flip 6 will also skip the beta phase.
For Galaxy S24 users, the company is rumored to release the third One UI 7 beta update between December 30 and January 6, followed by approximately three additional updates before transitioning to the stable release.
While this decision may disappoint fans of older Galaxy models, Samsung’s prioritization of a quicker rollout for the finished update could be seen as a practical move. Given the late launch of the One UI 7 beta program in 2024, it makes sense for the company to focus its resources on delivering a polished final version.
