NBC is renewing some shows early.
The network has given second season renewals to both of its drama shows from the first year, Found and The Irrational.
As a result of the dual strikes, many of NBC’s competitors shifted to reality series and licenced content, but NBC benefited from having episodes of both shows filmed before the broadcast season began.
The first four episodes of The Irrational’s season have yet to air, but they will begin on Monday, January 29 at 10 p.m. On those episodes, production has currently resumed.
Nine episodes of Found have been broadcast, and two more will air before the year is out. The two last episodes of the season, which will air on January 9, have already wrapped production.
Both shows have done well for NBC and Peacock; The Irrational’s premiere attracted 12.1 million viewers across all NBCU platforms in its first 15 days, while Found’s premiere episodes attracted 10.5 million viewers across platforms in its first week, making it NBC’s biggest streamer launch to date.
The story of Found centres on public relations professional Gabi Mosely, played by Shanola Hampton. Mosely was one of the more than 300,000 individuals of colour who went missing in the United States in the past, and her crisis management team now ensures that someone is constantly keeping an eye out for the people who are often overlooked. However, nobody is aware that this common woman hero is concealing a terrible secret of her own.
Starring are Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Arlen Escarpeta, Gabrielle Walsh, Brett Dalton, Kelli Williams, and Karan Oberoi.
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll is the source of it. Sonay Hoffman, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, and Lindsay Dunn are among the executive producers. Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television are partners with Rock My Soul Productions and Berlanti Productions on this production.
The Irrational follows renowned behavioural science professor Alec Mercer (Jesse L. Martin), who applies his special knowledge to a number of high-stakes cases involving businesses, governments, and law enforcement. Along the way, he and the team encounter a number of intense and unexpected challenges as they attempt to solve illogical puzzles and baffling mysteries thanks to his insight and unusual approach to analysing human behaviour.
Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, and Arash DeMaxi are also part of the cast.
Showrunner and executive producer Arika Lisanne Mittman collaborates with David Frankel, Sam Baum, and Mark Goffman. Produced by Universal Television, the show is based on Dan Ariely’s book Predictably Irrational.
Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Entertainment, said, “These shows are a testament to the incredibly passionate work of our showrunners Nkechi Okoro Carroll and Arika Lisanne Mittman, both of whom have executed their visions flawlessly.” “A huge thank you to the talented cast, producers and crews for their tireless commitment and dedication, which has clearly paid off with audiences making these series must-see television on both NBC and next day on Peacock.”
