Netflix Announces Competition Series ‘Million Dollar Secret’ With Peter Serafinowicz as Host

More money, more problems. That seems to be the motto of Netflix’s new competition series, in which one contestant is given a $1 million prize, and 11 other players fight to hunt him down and claim it as their own.

The British comedian and actor Peter Serafinowicz, whose credits include “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Shaun of the Dead,” “John Wick: Chapter 2,” and “Spy,” will host the series, which is presently titled “Million Dollar Secret.”

Here’s how the competition works, in Netflix’s own words: “The million-dollar prize is won by one of 12 players right at the start of the first episode. Now, the others will hunt them down – eliminate the millionaire and the money moves to someone new. When should they strike? Too soon and they become the target; too late and they may never get the money. Meanwhile, the millionaire can try to get rid of the cash if the heat becomes too much. This is a game of strategy and alliances, where predators can become prey in the blink of an eye.”

The series will consist of eight episodes of 45 minutes each. It is produced by Wheelhouse UK. and Spoke Studios (Love & WWE, Buy Beverly Hills). Charles Wachter serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Glenn Hugill, Will Nosucker, Russ Friedman, Joe Coleman and Pam Healy.

The cast of Million Dollar Secret has yet to be announced.

Serafinovich has had a successful career in Hollywood, having created and starred in Look Around You and his own sketch comedy series The Peter Serafinovich Show, as well as roles in Parks and Recreation, The Gentlemen and Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. He voiced Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace. Serafinowicz has also provided voices for Illumination’s animated films Sing, South Park, Rick and Morty, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers and American Dad!.
