Netflix’s strategy of delaying the release of the final two feature-length episodes of Stranger Things season 4 in order to generate excitement for the season finale appears to have succeeded a little too well, as the streaming site collapsed early on Friday (July 1).
Reporter claims that within an hour, Downdetector received nearly 13,000 reports of outages, while Twitter users’ complaints about the service’s downtime caused the phrase “Netflix down” to trend.
Although the article says that Netflix was able to control the situation and fix it within a half-hour, some comments on Downdetector indicate that they haven’t been able to access it for at least 12 hours.
We’ve got a whole season 4 ending recap right here, including who dies, for those of you who regrettably can’t access Netflix or don’t actually watch the programme but want to know what happens so you’re not left out of conversations about it.
Despite the fact that season 4 volume 2 was a huge hit, experts at Digital Spy have maintained that it did fall short of its predecessor in some ways.
The show’s lengthy runtime hurt it and thinned down the plot, and the death was too obvious to be a surprise.
The Duffer brothers have hinted that a spin-off is in the works even though the fifth season of the programme will be its final one.
“There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things, new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes.”
Netflix currently has all prior episodes of Stranger Things season 4 part 2 available for watching.
