Netflix will be up against The Traitors head-to-head. The eight-part reality series The Trust, which explores the issue of greed, has been ordered by the streamer.
A quarter of a million dollars is given to eleven strangers to be split equally. Will they contribute fairly? Or will they vote each other out in order to keep more money for themselves due to the attraction of greater money? It’s the ultimate test of human nature as mistrust and greed have the power to break even the most strong ties. Everyone enters this game as winners, and if they so desire, they can all exit as winners as well.
Big Brother and Peacock’s hit show hosted by Alan Cumming are said to be similar.
Having hosted CNN Newsroom before leaving the news broadcaster in 2021, Brooke Baldwin now hosts the series.
Starting in phases, it will run for three weeks starting on January 10, 2024, with fresh episodes being released every week.
Producing The Trust are Lighthearted Entertainment, the team behind The Big D and MTV’s Are You The One?, and Grandma’s House Entertainment, the group behind TBS’s The Misery Index and E!’s Catching Kelce.
The executive producers include David Friedman, Rob LaPlante, Jeff Spangler, Dan Newmark, and Ben Newmark.
