Mario, it’s music!
With the release of Nintendo Music, an app that allows fans to relive their musical memories from both classic and contemporary franchises like “Super Mario Bros.,” “The Legend of Zelda,” “Kirby,” “Pikmin,” “Animal Crossing,” “Metroid,” “Splatoon 3,” “Donkey Kong Country,” and more, Nintendo has opened its nearly 40-year vault of video game soundtracks.
Switch Online (and Switch Online + Expansion Pack) subscribers in the US and Canada can download the Nintendo Music app for iOS and Android devices for free. Individual Switch Online memberships cost $3.99 for a month or $19.99 for a full year. Other nations and territories also provide Nintendo Music.
Nintendo Music allows users to download music for offline listening or stream them straight from the app. Users can browse by screenshot, track name, playlist name, or game title to find tracks.
Nintendo says that the software allows you to loop music or play certain tracks for 15, 30, or 60 minutes for “uninterrupted listening.” To prevent spoilers, the software even allows you to filter out songs from a specific game.
Nintendo Music offers curated playlists made by Nintendo as well as the ability to create custom playlists that you may share with others. Additionally, recommendations will be sent to app users depending on their Nintendo Switch gameplay.
