OnePlus held a press conference where they unveiled three new gadgets: an improved tablet, new earphones, and a smartwatch. The OnePlus Pad 2 is a refresh of last year’s model, which they mostly liked, so let’s start there.
The Pad 2 is a new edition of the previous model in almost every way. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 12.1-inch screen with 3K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The company also promises “stronger audio output,” which is always a good thing since the primary use of many tablets is content consumption. OnePlus also says the sound system can emulate spatial audio.
The tablet has a 9,510mAh battery that can be fully charged in just over 80 minutes and lasts up to 43 days in standby mode. Pre-orders are open now, with the tablet priced at $550. It will be available to the public on July 30th. OnePlus has also released a range of accessories for the device, including keyboards and stylus.
The OnePlus Watch 2R, as the name suggests, is a smaller new edition of the just-launched Watch 2. It has all the features of its predecessor, including up to 100 hours of battery life, but it’s lighter and cheaper.
It runs the latest Wear OS and is integrated with the company’s health and fitness tracking app. The Watch 2R is available now and retails for $230. It’s available in green and gray.
Finally, they have the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro. These new earbuds offer up to 49dB improved noise cancellation compared to the previous version. The earbuds also come with a feature called Smart Noise Cancellation, which uses an algorithm to automatically reduce unwanted noise depending on the ambient noise.
These earbuds feature three microphones for calls, a transparency mode, and oversized 12.4mm audio drivers that OnePlus says allow for deep bass. They’re available now and retail for $80.
