People may now view ViacomCBS’ extensive library of series on Paramount+. Live channels (just like TV!) are now available on streaming providers.
One of the first 18 channels is dedicated solely to Star Trek, and it will broadcast episodes from new shows like Discovery and Picard, as well as classics like Enterprise and The Next Generation. Survivor, The Challenge, PAW Patrol, and SpongeBob Squarepants each have their own channels.
Drama, comedy, adult animation, Black voices, crime and justice, and reality shows are among the various channels that focus on themes and/or genres. “Nostalgic Hits” features popular shows from the 1980s and 1990s, such as Cheers, Frasier, and Wings. With episodes from I Love Lucy, The Love Boat, and The Twilight Zone, “TV Classics” travels a little further back.
“Animation Favorites,” “Kids & Family Fun,” and “Preschool Corner” are just a few of the kid-friendly channels available. Later this month, Paramount+ will launch two new live channels: one dedicated to movies, and another to RuPaul’s Drag Race. In addition to these channels, the site includes live sports, CBSN breaking news, and a live broadcast of their local CBS station for Premium users.
The live channels, which are available to all premium Paramount+ members, were “inspired and informed” by ViacomCBS’ free streaming platform, Pluto TV, according to the company. Last year, Tom Ryan, the inventor of Pluto TV, was named president and CEO of ViacomCBS Streaming.
