Top 5 NFL draft prospects to watch out for in Senior Bowl
- Michael Penix Jr.
There is much for Michael Penix Jr. to benefit from the Senior Bowl. Even though he’ll probably be chosen in the first or second round of the 2024 NFL draft, he has a chance to rank among the top four quarterbacks. In the 2018 recruiting class, he was a three-star prospect when he first joined the Indiana Hoosiers.
With the Hoosiers, Penix Jr. completed his passing career with 4,197 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He added 165 rushing yards and six touchdowns while completing 59.4% of his throws. But after an injury curtailed each of his four seasons with the programme, he transferred to the Washington Huskies in advance of the 2022 campaign.
In his two seasons with the Huskies, he had a breakthrough year with 9,544 yards, 67 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions in his passing game. Penix Jr. gained 100 rushing yards, seven touchdowns, and completed 65.4% of his passes.
- Bo Nix
Bo Nix, who may establish himself as the fourth quarterback off the board with a solid Senior Bowl performance, is in a similar situation to Michael Penix Jr. In the 2019 recruiting class, he was originally selected as a four-star talent by the Auburn Tigers.
Over his three seasons with the Tigers, Nix completed 7,251 yards of passing with 39 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. In addition to 869 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns, he completed 59.4% of his passes. Prior to the 2022 campaign, he joined the Oregon Ducks through the transfer portal.

- Olu Fashanu
In the event that Olu Fashanu performs well at the Senior Bowl, he is anticipated to be selected in the top ten. In 2020, he was a three-star prospect when he signed with the Penn State Nittany Lions. During his collegiate tenure, Fashanu made 29 matches.
- Latu Latu
Additionally, Laiatu Latu might go in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL draft. In the 2019 recruiting class, he was a four-star talent that signed with the Washington Huskies. Latu finished his true freshman campaign with 15 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and one pass defensed. Nevertheless, an injury caused him to retire before his sophomore season.
He was approved medically to rejoin the UCLA Bruins prior to the 2022 season, having been absent for two years. 85 total tackles, 34.0 tackles for loss, 23.5 sacks, two interceptions, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and three passes defended were all recorded by him in just two seasons.
- Jer’Zhan Newton
Although Jer’Zhan Newton is currently expected to be selected in the first round, he might move up this week.
