Fox Sports play-by-play broadcaster Joe Buck will join any semblance of Aaron Rodgers as he will guest-host “Jeopardy!” later this year. The news was first detailed by the New York Post.
The episodes, which are relied upon to air throughout the summer, will put the 51-year-old in the mix for the permanent hosting job. There are no reports on the number of episodes Buck will host, yet regularly guests will host half a month worth of shows.
Buck will one of numerous guests host that have filled in for the show since the death of Alex Trebek in November 2020. The news comes after Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hosted the show the previous two weeks, his last episode broadcasting Friday night. Past guest host incorporate previous champion Ken Jennings, executive producer Mike Richards, writer Katie Couric and Dr. Mehmet Oz.
The next round of guests hosts will incorporate, all together, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, CBS News’ Bill Whitaker, actress Mayim Bialik, NBC’s Savannah Guthrie and Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Guthrie’s episodes will air from June 14-25, with Gupta’s episode dates not yet reported.
The son of legendary sportscaster Jack Buck, Joe has been the lead play-by-play announcer for MLB on Fox since 1996, declaring 23 World Series from that point forward. He started calling NFL games for the network in 1994 yet was now and again up until 2001.
