‘Suits L.A.’ and ‘Grosse Pointe Garden Society’ to Premiere on NBC

Suits is officially back. The Stephen Amell-led spinoff Suits: L.A. has received a series order from NBC.

It will be produced by UCP and Hypnotic, with original series creator Aaron Korsh returning as writer and executive producer.

According to the official logline, Suits: L.A. follows Ted Black (Amell), “a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point and to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.”

Josh McDermitt, Rex Scott Davis and Bryan Greenberg will also star. David Bartis, Doug Liman, Jeanne Klein and Victoria Mahoney serve as executive producers. Mahoney also directed the pilot episode.

The original series Suits aired for nine seasons on USA Network from 2011 to 2019, but enjoyed a resurgence in popularity when it was added to Netflix last year.

On Friday, NBC also announced the addition of Grosse Pointe Garden Society, a drama starring Melissa Fumero, AnnaSophia Robb, Ben Rapaport, Matthew Davis, Alexander Hodge, Aja Naomi King, Nancy Travis and Felix Avitia.

Produced by Universal Television and the Minnesota Logging Company, the drama follows four diverse members of a suburban gardening club who “get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.”

Executive producers are Jenna Bans, Bill Krebs, Casey Kiver and Maggie Kiley. Kiley directed the pilot episode.
