The Recording Academy announced on Wednesday night that Trevor Noah will act as the host of the 2024 Grammy Awards for a record-breaking fourth year.
“I think it’s also important to acknowledge something. I’m hosting the Grammys,” Noah concurrently announced on his podcast “What Now? With Trevor Noah.” “I’m excited about that, yeah, it’s a lot of fun. I enjoy the Grammys because I get to watch the show in person and then experience and comment on it in person while it is happening.”
Leading the 2024 Grammy nominees is SZA, who is nominated in nine categories (including three major categories, naturally excluding best new artist) for her successful album “SOS.” Phoebe Bridgers, Victoria Monét, and mixing engineer Serban Ghenea tie for seventh place behind her, with the latter being nominated for both her solo and Boygenius projects.
Producer Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, Boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift were among the eight musicians that shared a tie for six nominations. Out of the 24 nominations, only three went to a recording by a male artist, indicating that women dominated the top three general-field categories.
If “Midnights” wins the category and gives Swift her fourth Grammy, she may have the most album of the year wins among the major happenings that could occur at the 2024 Grammy Awards. With 12 nominations, including four of the five places in the songs written for visual media category, “Barbie: The Soundtrack” might also win big.
The date of the 66th Grammy Awards is set for February 4, 2024. The event is scheduled to air on CBS and Paramount+, with a simultaneously from Crypto.com Arena.
